Travel and Flights
Q: What airline will I be flying on?
- We use a variety of airlines depending on your departure city, destination, and flight availability.
- Specific airline information will be included in your trip details email, sent approximately 3-4 weeks before departure.
Q: How much will it cost to fly from my city?
- The cost depends on your departure city. Indicate your preferred airport on your registration form, and we will provide the additional cost for your flight.
Q: Do I pay for checked luggage?
- Yes, if the airlines do not include checked luggage, or if it’s not specifically stated on the flyer. If you would like, you can pay for it in advance by contacting our office at (630)279-8424.
Q: How do I upgrade my seat or sit next to my friend, spouse, or relative?
- Our flight coordinator can assist you with seat upgrades or seating arrangements prior to your trip, depending on availability. Contact our office at (630)279-8424.
- We will inform you of any additional charges before any specific arrangements are confirmed.
Q: When will I get information about my flight?
- You will receive an email 4–6 weeks prior to departure with all trip details, including flight information, hotel details, and meeting points.
Q: Land Only
- Land Only means that you will be arranging your own International Flights.
- Pilgrimages like Italy and Medjugorje typically have a hopper flight or ferry ride. Inter-pilgrimage transfers are included and arranged by Totally Yours.
- Meeting up with the Group:
- If you arrive before the departure of the main group from the airport you may join the main group.
- If you arrive later than the main group it will be your responsibility to arrange transportation to join the main group, whether that be at a shrine or the hotel.
Registration
Q: How do I register for a trip?
- Register directly on our website via the trip-specific page, which also includes the tentative itinerary, we require a minimum deposit of $200 (unless otherwise stated).
Q: Why is my registration form not going through?
- Ensure you hit the submit button and all mandatory fields are completed.
- If you are using a cellphone or tablet, try a laptop or desktop computer. If you are using a laptop or desktop computer, try a different web browser.

Trip Experience
Q: Will we go straight to the hotel when we land?
- No, we will hit the ground running to help you adjust to the new time zone.
- Additionally, hotel check-in times are similar to the U.S. practices; most check-ins are approx. 3PM.
- Your luggage will be securely stored on the coach bus while we begin the pilgrimage.
Q: How long are the days?
- Typical days run 10–12 hours, beginning with breakfast around 7 AM, and ending with dinner around 7:30–8 PM.
- Note: In Europe, dinner is usually served after 7 PM.
Q: How much walking is there?
- Typically, between 2-5 miles a day.
- Some walking is required as buses cannot access all locations.
- Many shrines have large grounds (e.g., Padre Pio, St. Peter’s Basilica, Fatima).
- We recommend being able to walk half a mile at a time comfortably.
- Streets are often uneven and cobblestone. Many sidewalks are narrow.
Q: Do I need an adapter for outlets?
- Yes, for Europe, Israel, and South America. Check the specific country’s outlet type.
- No, not for the U.S., Mexico, or Canada: no adapter needed.
Q: Do I need a converter for my hair dryer?
- Most hotels now provide hair dryers.
- If you would still like to bring your own hair dryer, you will need a converter.
Q: Toilets – what should I know?
- Public restrooms in some countries may be less clean than expected.
- Carry toilet paper/tissues and hand sanitizer with you.
- Be prepared to pay a small fee (€0.50–€1) at some locations.
Money and Insurance
Q: Should I exchange money ahead of time?
- Yes, having local currency on arrival is convenient for tips, small purchases, and restrooms.
- Request the money from your personal bank more than 2 weeks prior to departure.
- You can use a currency exchange at your departure airport but note they will have a higher exchange rate than your local bank.
- ATMs should be considered a last resort.
- ATMs typically charge fees and have poor exchange rates.
- ATMs are not always easy to find or in a safe location.
Q: Will I have time to exchange money on the trip?
- While there may be opportunities, we strongly recommend exchanging some cash before departure.
Q: Do you offer insurance?
- No, we do not provide insurance directly but recommend Travel Guard Insurance.

- Any insurance provider is acceptable.
Q: Is insurance required?
- Travelers aged 80 and over are required to have travel insurance.
- Strongly recommended for everyone.
Groups & Custom Trips
Q: Can you create customized itineraries?
- Yes! For private groups (~30+ travelers), we can create a fully customized pilgrimage tailored to your preferences, budget, and travel style.
Q: Do you offer group discounts?
- Yes, for every 12 paying pilgrims, the 13th travels free.
- For private groups, our pilgrimage coordinator will work with you directly to arrange discounts and availability.
Cancellations & Refunds
Q: I would like to cancel my trip. What should I do?
- You will need to send a written confirmation to our email at info@medj1.com with your cancellation request.
- After we receive your email, we will review the cancellation policy listed on your itinerary with you.
Q: Can I get a refund if I cancel my trip?
- Refunds depend on days before departure; airfare refunds are not guaranteed.
- For health-related cancellations, medical documentation may be required, and/or you may need to work with your insurance provider.
- We highly recommend insurance.
